The Cinema Sound Production Studio has accomplished the entire set of sound production works for the film Dzidzio Contrabass, which included on set sound recording, audio design, foley recording, editing, and post-dubbing in 5.1 format.

You can follow your dream on any transport, even if it is an old red Volkswagen Passat. Having a dream is most important thing.

Borrowing money from God, buying cigarettes, dressing like a priest, lying to mom, becoming a smuggler, organizing a funeral, helping to deliver a baby, and cover 12,000 kilometers of road. Dzidzio (Mykhailo Khoma) managed to do all those things during 1.5 hours of screen time.

Certainly, singers becoming actors is a common thing in the US. However, it’s quite a rare thing in present-day Ukrainian filmmaking industry. So, an incredibly popular Ukrainian singer DZIDZIO decided to follow suit by debuting in a comedy film DZIDZIO Contrabass.

Although it took a really short time, by Ukrainian measures, to shoot this movie, it immediately became a huge event in Ukraine and gathered a record number of viewers in the first week of screening, thus proving that it can compete even with the Hollywood pictures. Our sound recording studio “Tretyakoff production” contributed to the shooting process, which is why we want to share the exclusive details from beyond-the-scenes and help the readers understand what is so charming about this Ukrainian comedy.

Oleh Borshchevsky (a music video maker, an author of novellas from the almanac Kyiv, My Love, a screenwriter and director of the movie Nymph) was at the helm of the shooting process. The creators of the film made an emphasis on the authenticity, national colors, and peculiarities of everyday life of regular Ukrainians. Rather than showing the life of a regular big city, the movie focuses on remote places, such as villages. Contrabass positions itself as a movie for regular people about regular people, and that is something especially appealing about this picture. In his commentaries to the journalists, Dzidzio confirmed the concept, saying, “To be honest, the script is based on myself. In the movie, you will see the DZIDZIO you all know and love. We were not inventing anything, just showed stories from real life.”

It is no secret to anyone that Mykhailo Khoma posseses an extraordinary talent of a comedy actor. In the movie, Dzidzio is exuberant, touching, natural, and funny, and he feels quite comfortable in the image he creates. His performance is an absolute success. There is a good reason for naming the film DZIDZIO Contrabass, rather than simply Contrabass. The performance of the leading actor totally justifies the emphasis he gets in the title. Actually, he is the main inspirer. Unmatched Olena Lavreniuk plays the adventurous character Aliona, the leading female role. The secondary roles are performed by Nazarii Huk (Yulyk), Orest Halytsky (Lamour), Serhii Pavuk, Rymma Ziubina, Volodymyr Horiansky, Oleksii Vertynsky, and Ihor Kondratiuk.

Volodymyr TRETYAKOV, the producer and director of the Cinema Sound Production Studio says that DZIDZIO Contrabass had to be completed in very short terms, “Our task was to create high-quality sound under complicated circumstances, when we had a small budget, were pressed in time, and yet we’ve succeeded. The movie gathered the total box office of over 20 million hryvnias.”

Regarding the behind-the-scenes moments, Tretyakov emphasized that he had hugely enjoyed working with Dzidzio, “We’re incredibly happy that he chose our sound recording studio. We hope it was not the last time we worked together and that Khoma will make other projects after Contrabass.”

 

 

 

 

 

Finally, it was an immense pleasure for the entire creative team of the Cinema Sound Production Studio to work on this project. Rest assured, no one will be left emotionless after watching the movie. The feeling of pride for the rapidly developing Ukrainian filmmaking industry might be another bonus the viewers will get from watching it.

The Midnight Man

In 1953 three children are seen playing a game beginning at midnight and ending at 3:33 a.m.. Their game seems to be in fact a horrible waking nightmare in which they must avoid being captured by The Midnight Man (Strauts) who feeds on their fears and ultimately kills them. By the end of the game only one player, a girl named Anna, remains alive.

The plot then jumps to 2016 and Anna (Shaye), is a grandmother who has been diagnosed with a dementia related illness and still lives on the property the game took place. She is cared for by her teenage granddaughter Alex (Haugh). One evening, Alex’s close friend Miles (Gabriel) comes over and the two discover the game. Anna freaks out after seeing the game and is treated by Dr Harding (Robert Englund) who advises them and leaves immediately.

They start playing without reading the full list of rules till the end, as a piece of paper seems to be missing.

Once they start playing Alex goes to check on her grandma but when she reaches her, Anna blows her candle out, and she gets trapped in the bathroom by The Midnight Man who plays tricks on her. Here Miles too experiments by blowing out his candle and is punished by The Midnight Man. Later he rushes to save Alex and brings her downstairs. At that point, Kelly (Haine) arrives and insists on playing the game. While playing, Kelly’s candle goes out and couldn’t be re-lit within 10 seconds, so the friends draw a protective circle of salt around her.

Kelly is killed while Alex and Miles go searching for another candle.

Dr. Harding arrives again and helps them to destroy the game after revealing that he too was there on the night Anna played the game as a child. Anna arrives and kills Dr. Harding but is later shot by Alex. The grandfather clock strikes 3:30 a.m. as The Midnight Man faces Alex and Miles, who are still protected by the circle of salt. Alex tells The Midnight Man that he has lost and he disappears. They wait until it is 4 o’clock before leaving the circle. While Alex picks up the remnants of the game, Miles checks on Dr. Harding’s body and notices the time on his watch shows 3:27 a.m. He then realizes that The Midnight Man has tricked them. The Midnight Man appears and kills Miles and then tells Alex she has lost the game.

The scene reopens with a boy and his father at the house. The boy notices a box on the table and asks his father if he can take it. His father allows him to do so and they leave. The boy can be heard saying that he hopes it’s a game.

A real story about real heroes

“Enjoy this beauty, because you won’t be able to see beauty in a forest anymore.”

Only the Brave is an American drama film based on a real tragedy that happened in Arizona in 2013. In summer, 19 fighters from a hotshot unit Granite Mountain died trying to extinguish one of the most destructive and deadly forest fires. They gave their lives to save the city. It was the biggest tragedy after September 11, 2001, when hundreds of people were killed when twin towers were destroyed.

It should be noted that the film’s director Joseph Kosinski did a brilliant job. Not everyone will recall that he also directed Tron: Legacy and Oblivion. Being far from the most popular directors in the world, Kosinski’s yet a person with great taste.

The leading roles were performed by Josh Brolin. Miles Teller, Taylor Kitsch, Jennifer Connelly, and Jeff Bridges.

In the film the dangerous wildfires are rather a background to reveal the characters. As the picture tells the story of the team, it starts giving a better picture of the personalities of the heroes, showing the evolution of a man. Everything is based on the mutual relationship and views on life. It also dwells on the notion of brotherhood. Every character in the film has a story of their own. The leader of the hotshot crew, Eric Marsch, is in the center of attention. He is responsible for the unit, he makes proper strategic decisions. He’s respected by the team, his family loves and waits for him. Another character that’s in the center of attention, too, is Brendan McDonough. This guy has a dark past, and he completely lacks any physical training. He decided to join the firefighters’ unit to change his life. The characters’ stories get intertwined to produce a powerful drama that evokes strong emotions after all.

Some people will be surprised to learn that firefighters set one part of the forest on fire to save another part. By the way, the actors had to dig several kilometers of ditches normally used to stop the fire while they were learning to play forest firefighters in a training camp.

It’s worth mentioning that nature is the leading antagonist in the movie. It’s terrible and beautiful at the same time. Many people are in love with the element because its unrestraint enchants them. But when this power starts taking people’s life, it’s always very sad. The fire is always relentless. And there are always people who want to be professionals and ready to risk their lives.

Most importantly, the film brings up important questions and there’s an illuminative insight to this story. First of all, it teaches us to get our priorities straight and make a choice. It also reminds us that life is not about work, and that everyone has the right for a second chance.

We’ll use this opportunity to say that the Ukrainian dubbing of this film was done by our sound recording studio “Tretyakoff Production.” So we understand better than anyone else that a voice is one of the key tools able to completely change the impression from the visual sequence. Should you watch Only the Brave? Yes, there is no doubt about it. This film tells about real heroes, the power of spirit, about the people who knew what they were living for, excellently did their job, and will forever remain in the hearts of people they saved. This film is a proof of it. We also want to note that the music in the film is amazing and used in proper moments, as well as the incredible landscapes of the American Southwest. The result is a powerful monument-film that will touch even hard-hearted people.

“While everyone goes crazy in New Year’s Day, I do crazy things on my birthday…”

Sooner or later everyone has to go through the middle-age crisis. And everyone handles it in their own way. In the film Home Again, directed by the budding actress and screenwriter Hallie Meyers-Shyer, this process is quite joyful, which is no surprise as “legally blonde” Reese Witherspoon stars in the leading role.

The movie Home Again is full of family humor and wisdom that says that care and attention win a girl’s heart. The creative team of Tretyakoff Production Studio made sure of that once again.

A few words about the storyline. Alice, a 40-year-old divorced mother of two charming girls, comes back to her home city Los Angeles to settle in the house she inherited from her father, a legendary director, as she hopes to start her life from scratch. At a nightclub, where Alice is celebrating her birthday upon her return and is having the time of her life, she meets three young film directors looking for a place to live. Alice offers them her guesthouse. This decision changes her life completely, brings a lot of new adventures and emotions. Each of the three young men falls in love with her and surrounds her with attention. Besides, her ex-husband, full of fatherly feelings, all of a sudden appears in her life and asks her to give their relationships a new start. The woman has to make a hard choice between the stormy past and vague future. Maybe she should send everything to hell and start her life anew.

Кто из нас хоть раз не ходил на эту невероятно увлекающую и новомодную забаву? Квесты в последнее время завоевали бешеную популярность по всему миру. Это отличный способ развлечься, привести в тонус нейроны головного мозга и даже пощекотать нервы. Те, кто ощутили этот кайф на себе, нас поддержат!

Эту тему мы подняли неспроста. «Tretyakoff Production» подготовил для вас еще один качественный украинский продукт! Наша команда профессионалов дублировала интригующий американский триллер от режиссера Уилла Верника «Клаустрофобия». Картина рассказывает о компании друзей, которые решили поучаствовать в квесте. Но этим ребятам не повезло – игра, в которую они решили сыграть во имя развлечения, оказалась самым жутким лабиринтом, который только можно представить. Они даже не представляли, чем это может обернуться для них.

Следует отметить, что подобная идея в кинематографии не является чем-то новым, уже много разных режиссеров снимали фильмы про людей, которые ищут выход. Но в этот раз не было понятно, кто же станет следующей жертвой, а кто продолжит игру. Начало фильма получилось весьма впечатляющим. В первые минуты создатели смогли передать атмосферу предвосхищения чего-то мрачного. Но впоследствии развития событий градус проникающего страха постепенно снижается. Минус этого фильма в том, что персонажи гибнут настолько быстро, что просто не успеваешь к ним привыкнуть.

«Иностранец» – страшная месть Джеки Чана.

«Статус Брэда» – а чего добился ты в своей жизни?

«Удача Лохана»: время подрывать

Пообещать – еще не значит выполнить, подумал легендарный американский режиссер, сценарист и продюсер Стивен Содерберг и решил вернуться в мир кино. Напомним, создатель многими обожаемой трилогии «Друзей Оушена» в 2013 году объявил об уходе из кино, аргументировав свое решение тем, что ему надоел Голливуд. Но он вернулся, да еще и не с пустыми руками!

Друзья, студия звукозаписи «Tretyakoff Production» представляет вашему вниманию дублированный на украинский язык фильм «Удача Лохана». В главных ролях: Ченнинг Татум, Адам Драйвер, Дэниэл Крэйг, Райли Кио, Сет МакФарлейн, Кэти Холмс, Хилари Суонк, Кэтрин Уотерстон, Дуайт Йоакам, Себастьян Стэн, Брайан Глисон, Джек Куэйд, Фарра Маккензи.

Зритель проникнется историей простых людей, которым жизнь раздала не самые удачные карты, но которые приложат максимум усилий, чтобы честно распределить эту колоду. Итак, пробежимся по сюжету:

Семья Лоханов из Вирджинии считалась лузерами на протяжении многих лет. Чтобы улучшить материальное положение и преодолеть родовое проклятие неудачников, двое братьев и сестра решили ограбить гоночный трек во время летнего заезда. Один из братьев пока работал шахтером и реконструктором стадиона разведал, что кассы на гонках быстро опустошаются, а все деньги отправляются в подземный сейф.

Биографическая драма «2pac: Легенда» рассказывает об одном из самых ярких американских рэперов в истории Тупака Шакура, сделавшем за свои четверть века больше, чем многие за всю жизнь.

Картина «2pac: Легенда», которая в оригинале названа в честь четвертого альбома Тупака All Eyez on Me, имеет целую историю. И режиссер Бенни Бум решил взбаламутить улегшийся в забытье криминальный инцидент. По своей сути он эквивалентен такой же нераскрытой истории смерти Виктора Цоя. Легенда американского хип-хопа Тупак Шакур с самого детства понял, что жизнь не стоит ничего, а важны лишь цвет кожи и власть, которую дают сила и оружие. Он перевернул мир конца ХХ века, ему удалось вдохновить очень многих людей и за свою недолгую, но яркую жизнь успел стать настоящей иконой поколения.

Наша студия звукозаписи «Tretyakoff Production» проделала огромную работу, чтобы двухчасовой фильм зазвучал на украинском языке. Поэтому нам, как никому, довелось тесно познакомиться с сюжетом «Легенды» и свои впечатления, пусть даже субъективные, хотим донести вам, любимому зрителю!

В фильме Тупак Шакур выступает идеализированным трагическим героем – настоящий борец за правду и справедливость. Чтобы главного героя сделать Тупаком Шакуром, не понадобилось ничего кардинального. Стоит отметить стопроцентное сходство актера Деметриуса Шиппа мл. с Тупаком. Когда режиссер увидел фотографию претендента на главную роль, он подумал, что это и есть Тупак. А для еще большей правдоподобности костюмеры здорово скопировали его прикиды.

Сюжет основан на том, что у Тупака в тюрьме берут интервью, и он рассказывает самые, на взгляд Бенни Бума, яркие моменты своей жизни. Режиссер показал историю парня, выросшего на улице, происходившего из семьи борцов за права афроамериканцев. Он действительно прошел настоящую школу жизни, выбрался из трущоб и стал звездой. Но как именно рэпер смог повлиять на миллионы людей – таких же простых афроамериканцев, каким когда-то был он сам? Самый главный вопрос остается за кадром. То есть после окончания байопика зрителю все так же будет непонятно, почему именно Тупак стал легендой, чем он отличался от остальных не менее талантливых рэперов.

Тем не менее, следует также отметить, насколько удачно передана атмосфера душной и роскошно-опасной жизни рэп-элиты – эти моменты прочувствованы и воссозданы со знанием. Неотъемлемой частью также является и музыка исполнителя. Сопровождение различных хитов в сценах вписывается уместно и очень оживляет картину.

Нельзя не подчеркнуть огромный плюс в этой картине, которым  является актерская игра, которая растрогает до слез каждого. Пусть Деметриус Шипп мл. всего лишь смог приблизиться к образу Тупака Шакура, а не погрузиться в него, однако он справился со своей ролью достойно. Как и Данай Гурира, звезда сериала «Ходячие мертвецы», в байопике «2pac: Легенда» безупречно сыграла мать Тупака Шакура Афени.

К сожалению, авторы байопика «2pac: Легенда» использовали минимум материала для создания мощной картины. Вполне возможно, что это было сделано, дабы сохранить «ореол загадочности» вокруг личности Тупака Шакура. Но даже при таких незначительных нюансах этом фильм заслуживает вашего внимания.
